an artitic action...

Dénia will become on Saturday 2 September the epicenter of cycling, or this reason, the Dénia City Council and the Diputación de Alacant thought about capturing the participation of the municipality with an artistic action that would has a good visual impact and would immortalize the date.

The artist responsible for designing and executing the work has been the dianense Tardor and has been located in one of the walls of the municipal sports center of Denia. The large image (about 120 square meters, 10 meters high by 12 meters wide) is made in the graffiti style with aerosols. The artist mixes elements of the sea and nature of the natural park with the figure of a cyclist and a young woman with the Montgo and the Mediterranean in the background.

The Vuelta Ciclista a España has chosen the province of Alicante to star in one of the stages.

The 165 kilometer stage will culminate in one of the most emblematic enclaves of the province, the upper Xorret de Catí, with ramps that exceed 20% of altitude in some sections.

Els Poblets, Pego, Tollos, Fageca, Quatretondeta, Gorga, Benilloba, Benifallim, La Torre de les Maçanes, Ibi and Onil are other Alicante municipalities through which La Vuelta Ciclista will pass.In addition, three ports of second category -the Alto de la Vall d'Ebo, the Port of Benifallim and the Carrasqueta- and a third -Tollos-.

This 78th edition of La Vuelta Ciclista will feature the title champion, Remco Evenepoel, the winner of the Giro d'Italia 2023, Primoz Roglic or the recent Tour winner, Jonas Vingegaard.

A look of solidarity and generosity that is associated with this eighth stage, which will tour some of the towns that last summer were ravaged by the dramatic fire declared in the area of the Vall d'Ebo and the Vall de Seta. A very nice gesture that will contribute to nourishing the soul of these peoples so affected.
All thanks to the effort and involvement in this project of each and every one of the municipalities through which the race will run, especially those of Dénia and Castalla, starting point and arrival of this section.
