¡An explosion of colours: Dénia above and below the sea!
Holiday tourism in Dénia will take you, from the beach and port of Dénia, to the Cape de Sant Antoni Sea Reserve a scuba diver’s paradise.
You will be able to find coral colonies, scyaphila algae, sandstone rodophytes, posydonia prairies, scuba diving in caves and crevasses such as the famous Cova Tallada, and take pictures of sponges, sea lobsters, groupers, morays, sparids, serranids, corvas, sargos, or salpas: a multitude of possible routes within the same natural enclave.
The Sea Reserve is an area of high environmental value with restricted use where it is forbidden to: anchor ships, sport fishing of any class (on foot, from the boat and scuba diving), sport scuba diving without the corresponding license, collecting sea organisms, flora and fauna without the corresponding authorisation, nautical sports with motor boats, underwater sports recreational activities requiring the use of a motor without the corresponding authorisation (Regional Valencian Legislation DOGV Nr. 2.145, November, 16 1993): are strictly forbidden.
Scuba diving within the Sea Reserve is controlled and limited and a license must be requested beforehand directly at the Dénia Tourist Office.
The Sea Reserve stretches between the most eastern point of Cape of Sant Antoni and meridian 00º08, 10’E, which crosses Sant Nicolau Point.
*Note: Extension of the Sea Reserve: Regional Valencian Legislation. DOGV 5.027 dated June, 14 2005.
Marineta Casiana beach is also becoming, nevertheless, a Natural Reserve area, being an area of moderate use.
