Dénia is the capital city of the Marina Alta district.
The Marina Alta has 33 councils and a surface of 759, 30 km2.
In the surroundings of Dénia you’ll find much more than you expected:
Sand Beaches, rocky coves, cliffs, capes such as Sant Antoni and la Nau, protected areas such as Mount Montgó and the Ifach Rock natural parks, the cape of Sant Antoni sea reserve...
Castles such as those in Dénia and Moraira, watchtowers, old windmills, churches and historic centres with their narrow streets and typical Mediterranean corners.
Caves situated right on the coast, such as the Cova Tallada –Dénia/Xàbia and the Cova dels Arcs –Benitatxell-.
Traditional dishes made of rice, seafood and fish, which have just arrived on port, the area’s vegetables... and endless local Spanish Mediterranean cuisine recipes.
Fiestas, nautical sports, land sports, handicraft open air markets, open air activities...
*The following routes show you the Marina Alta coast as well as the coastal council of Altea in the neighbouring Marina Baixa district. |
